Abstract Submission Rules:
- Abstracts must be uploaded online through the abstract system on the congress website. Submissions via email, fax, or other means will not be considered.
- Abstracts will be presented as oral or poster presentations. Submission of full texts for accepted abstracts is optional. Authors who wish to have their abstracts published in full text must prepare it according to the full text template available on the website and upload it to the online abstract system.
- The person presenting at the congress must be marked as the presenting author in the abstract, be registered for the congress, and must be the author submitting the abstract to the system.
- Abstracts submitted online can be updated until the final submission date, provided they have not been sent to the scientific committee. There is no need to enter a new abstract for updates.
- No changes can be made to the abstracts once the review process has started (after submission to the scientific committee).
- A researcher may submit a maximum of 2 abstracts as the first author.
- The final submission date for abstracts is November 10, 2024. Abstracts submitted after this date will not be accepted and submitted abstracts will not be withdrawn.
- All abstracts must be uploaded to the system in both Turkish and English.
- Abstracts that do not comply with the abstract writing rules will not be reviewed.
- Abstract results will be announced on the congress website on November 15, 2024 (https://www.helid.org.tr/ks/en).
- Abstracts uploaded to the system will be evaluated by the scientific committee, and oral and poster presentations will be determined based on the evaluation results.
- For original research, the Turkish abstract should include “Giriş, Amaç, Yöntem, Bulgular ve Sonuç”; the English abstract should include “Introduction, Aim, Method, Results, Conclusion”.
- Case presentation abstracts should include “Giriş, Amaç, Olgu(lar), Sonuç” for Turkish abstracts; and “Introduction, Aim, Case(s), Conclusion” for English abstracts.
- Review abstracts should be structured as plain text including the purpose of the review.
- Abstracts should not exceed 400 words (excluding title, author names, institutional information, and keywords).
- Abstracts should be entered in 12-point font size.
- Keywords should be between 3 to 5, separated by commas. All words, except for proper nouns, should be in lowercase.
- Abstracts should not include images, tables, or references.
- Standard international abbreviations may be used. However, if a special abbreviation is used, it should be fully spelled out the first time with the abbreviation in parentheses.
- Academic titles should not be used in author names. Names should be written with only the first letters capitalized.
- Author names should be filled in according to their order in the work, and the person presenting the work should be marked in the system (indicate as the presenter).
- Institutions of authors (name, city, and country) must be provided.
- The abstract title should reflect the content, be short, and should not include abbreviations.
- Titles should be written with the first letter of each word capitalized.
- English titles should not use Turkish characters.
- Prepared full texts should not exceed a similarity rate of 25%. This should be taken into account during preparation. Similarity reports will be checked by the congress secretariat. Authors are responsible for the similarity rate of their reports. Additionally, AI should not be used in abstract preparation.
ABOUT FULL TEXT SUBMISSIONS
Full Text Submission Deadline: November 11, 2024
*Full texts (optional) must be submitted via the online abstract acceptance system.
Points to consider when preparing full texts:
- Full texts should be written in Times New Roman, 12-point font, single-spaced, with 2.5 cm margins on all sides, and should be 5 to 10 pages in length.
- The title should be in bold, with the first letter of each word capitalized.
- Authors should be listed in bold without titles, with the presenting author’s name underlined.
- Author institutions should be indicated with superscripts (1,2,3, etc.) following the author’s surname and explained after the author’s names.
- For original research, the Turkish full text should include “Giriş, Amaç, Yöntem, Bulgular ve Sonuç”; the English full text should include “Introduction, Aim, Method, Results, Conclusion”.
- Case presentation full texts should include “Giriş, Amaç, Olgu(lar), Sonuç” for Turkish texts; and “Introduction, Aim, Case(s), Conclusion” for English texts.
- Review full texts should be structured as plain text, including the purpose of the review.
- References should follow APA 7.0 (American Psychological Association) style.
Presentation of Accepted Abstracts
Oral Presentation
- Oral presentations should be planned for 13 minutes, with 2 minutes for Q&A.
- After the acceptance announcements, the list of oral presentations will be shared on the congress website.
- All presentations will be scheduled according to the congress scientific program’s specified day, time, and room.
- Information regarding your oral presentation session will be provided on the congress website.
- Abstracts that are not presented will not be published in the abstract book.
- Presentation files must be checked and submitted to the responsible person at the congress before the session starts.
- The names and institutions of all authors should be included on the title slide of the presentation.
- The presenting author should be indicated with an underline.
Poster Presentation
- Poster presentations will be displayed in the foyer areas throughout the congress. Poster presentations will be featured during coffee breaks as indicated in the scientific program. Poster presenters are expected to be present at their posters during these times.
